Run for Rescues 5K and 1 Mile Dog Jog

Healthy pets and healthy people are always in fashion! Partnering with Franklin’s Friends, a nonprofit local organization whose mission is to promote animal welfare and support animal charities, the Pet Alliance is holding Orlando’s first Run for Rescues event. The human health experts at Florida Hospital and canine fitness experts at Rocky’s Retreat have laced up their sneakers for the cause. The event will be held on Saturday, May 17, at The Mall at Millenia. Running shoes and tiaras? You bet! Accessorize your running apparel with a tutu, bow tie, or anything else you can imagine – and Run for Rescues!

Featuring a timed, chipped USATF certified Fashionable 5k – for serious or casual human runners, and a fun untimed, 1 Mile Dog Jog to walk or jog with or without your dog, race prizes will be awarded. Top individual and team finishers and the largest team will be awarded in the Fashionable 5K, and most fashionable dogs in the 1 Mile Dog Jog. The most fashionable human will be awarded for both events. Registration and packet pick-up will be at 6:30 a.m. The Fashionable 5K begins at 7:30 a.m. and the 1 Mile Dog Jog at 8:15 p.m. Awards will be presented following the Dog Jog. Learn more and register.
