Pet Alliance Programs

Volunteer at Pet Alliance

Volunteers contributed over 70,000 hours of service last year; in addition to exercising, socializing and providing enrichment activities for our dogs and cats, our volunteers help support our animals by fostering underage puppies and kittens in their homes and assisting in special events and offsite adoptions.

Pet Friendly Apartment Registry

We believe that the availability of more truly pet friendly apartments will go a long way in keeping pets with their family. So we have created the “Pet Alliance Registered Apartment Partner Program”. Some properties welcome all cats and dogs, regardless of size or breed, while some have no breed restrictions, but have weight restrictions. Two-thirds of American homes have at least one pet! Yet, a leading reason for surrendering dogs and cats is due to difficulty finding pet friendly rental housing with no breed or size restrictions. Last year, nearly 1,800 pets were surrendered to Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando due to the lack of pet friendly housing.

Education Programs

We offer both offsite programs and onsite tours free of charge for grades Pre-K through 12th Grade. All our programs fulfill Florida Statute 233.061 which requires Florida schools teach kindness to animals as part of their curricula. We believe this is the most effective way to teach our children respect for all life and the prevention of cruelty not only to animals but also to humans.

Pet Therapy Program

As a Pet Therapy Team, you and your own family pet will bring joy, education, companionship, and stimulation to people in need. Pet Therapy Teams routinely visit senior citizens, children, and adults in facilities that have contracts with our organization. Teams — especially those with rescued dogs and cats — will also assist in community education programs and events.

Veterinary Clinic

The Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando veterinary clinics are here to keep Orlando’s pets healthy so they stay in their homes with their families. Our veterinary teams provide comprehensive preventive health care for pets of all ages to keep them happy and healthy throughout their lifetime. Our wellness services include a thorough health examination, infectious disease and parasite testing, prevention vaccinations, dental care, nutrition, and behavior counseling.

Adoptable Animals

More than 8,500 homeless dogs and cats will turn to the Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando for caring, compassion, and hope through our animal shelters this year. By adopting a pet, you’re not only providing that animal a loving family and a safe home, you’re also making room for the sheltering of another homeless pet. We can help you find the ideal pet for you—one that matches your lifestyle and your expectations.
