How much do you know about your best friend’s smile?

Just like humans, cats and dogs require dental maintenance. According to the American Veterinary Association, brushing your pet’s teeth should be done at least three times a week – but daily is ideal!

It is also important that your pet’s teeth and gums be examined by a vet regularly. There are a variety of afflictions that can plague your animal’s mouth, but the most common is periodontal disease.
Routine dental cleanings remove the plaque and tartar that lead to periodontal disease and should be done as recommended by your veterinarian.

Cleanings allow your vet to target areas underneath your pet’s gums where unseen buildup might be hiding during regular brushing. For your pet’s comfort, anesthesia is required.
