What A Night!
This year’s Furball was the largest and most successful in the event’s 28-year history raising $346,000!
Located at the luxurious Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World® Resort, Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando gathered nearly 600 animal advocates to hear stories of rescue this past Saturday at the 2019 Furball: A Rescue to Remember.
After Hurricanes Irma and Maria devastated the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico in 2017, Pet Alliance quickly jumped to action to help rescue the animals displaced by these storms. This soon became an expertise at Pet Alliance. As additional hurricanes and large scale neglect cases affected animals in Florida and beyond, Pet Alliance became a trusted partner and go-to agency to help these animals.
Since 2017, 3,102 dogs and cats have been rescued from shelters and circumstances that would likely have led to euthanasia. This life-saving work is critical to Pet Alliance’s mission and ensuring that all dogs and cats have happy, healthy homes.
This work is done in addition to the day-to-day intake of surrendered dogs and cats, outreach programs and veterinary services that Pet Alliance provides. If it were not for the generosity of donors, we would not have the resources to do all of this important work. However, there is still more to do. All of the funds generated at Furball will go directly to supporting Pet Alliance rescue work.
Whether they’re flown to us by a rescuer like Sali Gear (Island Dog Rescue) following the devastating hurricanes in 2017 (and more recently Hurricane Dorian) or brought to us by someone locally who can no longer care for them — Pet Alliance is here for any dog or cat that needs our help.

Event Highlights
We were joined by Quantum Leap Winery Owner, David Forrester who announced the much-aticpated finalists and winners of the My Best Freind Wine Contest. Two winners were selected to be featured on the “My Best Friend Rescue Red” wine which will be sold commercially throughout the next year.
In the dog category, Lily, Emma, and Emmy were the top three finalists. The feline category was represented by Charlie, Taurus, and Max. Based on not only the total amount each entrant raised, the winners were selected based on their pet’s rescue story. And the Winners are…
Puppies and kittens were ready to snuggle at the exclusive Woof Gang Bakery Cuddle Lounge which boasted SEVEN adoptions by the end of the evening! But the fun didn’t end there. From the fabulous auction items donated from all over the world, delicious food prepared by the acclaimed chefs at the Four Seasons and the fun-filled Stanley Steemer After Party — it surly was an evening to remember.
