Aloft Orlando Downtown Celebrates 100th Adoption During Bow Wow Luau

Aloft Orlando Downtown and Pet Alliance partnered on a summer party this July – and boy was it coconuts! The Bow Wow Luau celebrated the 100th dog adoption at the Aloft Orlando Downtown as part of its Dogs in Residence Program.

For more than a year, visitors of the hotel have been greeted with an extra sweet and fluffy surprise. Through the program, the pet-friendly hotel houses one dog from Pet Alliance at a time in a mini-Aloft doghouse and enclosure stationed for public view in the lobby, who can be adopted by hotel guests and visiting locals.  Since launching in late May of last year, every pup that has been part of the program, has found their “furever” home at Aloft. The program is the first and only hotel dog adoption program in Central Florida.

The 100th Aloft Orlando Downtown Adoption was our sweet 3-month-old Maple.

What better way to celebrate the 100th adoption at Aloft than with a Bow Wow Luau?

Bow Wow Luau was held on July 27th and truly showcased how amazing this foster program is. The event included a silent auction with 15 custom tile dog houses that garnered $1,905 for a grand total of $2,800 fundraised.

The hit of the event was our “Pawaiian” costume contest. 22 pups, pooches, and woofers waled the catwalk in front of local celebrity judges, Commissioner Patty Sheehan and WFTV’s Karla Ray. Local vendors such as Kendra Scott, That Girl with the Dogs, Kahlua’s Kookies, Haole & Ono and Sweet City Gelato were also present.

The event was a Hawaiian paradise of success! The best part? The 100th dog adoption took place at the Luau with sweet Maple pictured here.
