UPDATED Friday, March 3, 2020
As we are sure our Central Florida community is aware, a Stay-at-Home Order was put into effect for the state of Florida on Thursday, April 2, 2020 and will last for 30 days. This will have an effect on both our sheltering and clinic operations in the following ways:
Shelters
Effective Friday, March 27 and now additionally through Sunday, May 2, 2020, Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando shelters will not be offering adoption or surrender appointments. We will not intake any animals during the Stay-at-Home Order.
Over 85% (as of April 1, 2020) of our current residents have found foster homes this week, so thank you to those who submitted an application to bring a furry Pet Alliance friend into your home. For the dogs and cats still in our care who could not be placed based on behavior or for medical reasons, they will continue to be cared for by our shelter staff daily. They’re making sure that each kennel is clean, everyone has full bellies is walked and has been enriched in some way before heading home to hunker down with their families. If you would like to become part of our fostering family, fill out the application here.
Clinics
Effective Friday, April 3 through Sunday, May 2, 2020, Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando Clinics will be closed for all veterinary services at all locations including Orlando, Sanford, and Alafaya. All vaccine clinics and spay/neuter surgeries, as well as dental procedures, will be suspended until further notice.
If you need to fill a prescription for your pet and are an existing client, you can do so by calling our customer care team at (407) 351 – 7722, or by using our online pharmacy here.
Pet Food Pantry
For individuals in need of food, please schedule an appointment. Our Pet Food Pantry is accepting appointments on Tuesday and Thursday from 11:00 – 2:00.
